For what it's worth, this was posted on another forum... apparently, Gannon was asked about this report on Sirus Radio... Quote:
Anyone hear Gannon Sirus Radio today? He knows Gruden is willing to come back!
I was listening to Sirus Radio today and they had Gannon on during one of their segments. He said that he knew for a fact that Gruden would love to come back to Oakland. He said if Al would ask Gruden to come back Gruden would jump all over that opporunity as long as Bruce Allen could return as well.
Gannon also said that he would love to come in as a QB coach if Gruden was here. He said to give him 30 minutes to sit down with JR and he could tell you if JR has what it takes to develop into a great NFL QB. There is no link, it was on the radio.
So knowing how tight Gannon and Gruden are I have no doubt that if Gannon is saying this that he spoke to Gruden about it. I also think that where ever Gruden ends up Allen and Gannon are going with him. I also think that this combination of Gruden as HC and Gannon as QB coach would allow Gruden to just let Gannon deal with the developement of a young QB since Gruden never had patience for that in Tampa.
Al has all of these people willing to help him. He needs to put the Raiders organization before himself and prove he wants to win more than any of us. He needs to let this happen. Gruden was the only coach that could consistently win in as a coach in this organziation in the last 15 years, Allen was a huge part of that, and who better to teach the system to a QB than the guy who ran it perfectly?
As much as I know it's not going to happen, please make the move Al!
