The move sets Boothe up for easily a career-best $1.176 million salary, but he could be pried away fairly easily as a former sixth-round pick. Heady, athletic, and able to play several positions, the 26-year-old may get interest.

ESPN's NFC South blogger Pat Yasinskas speculates that Jake Delhomme may not even make the Panthers' final roster.

Yasinskas, an ex-Panthers beat writer, doesn't believe Carolina is done addressing the quarterback position this offseason, which could leave Delhomme's roster spot in jeopardy. The Panthers are expected to add at least one more QB, possibly a mid-round rookie. Still, it's hard to picture the team cutting ties with Delhomme even if he loses the quarterback competition.
Potential study buddy for Grads?

The Browns are expected to "soon part ways" with QB Derek Anderson.
No shocker here. Anderson was never going to see the $2 million roster bonus due later this month, much less the $7.45 million base salary. Coming off a 44.5 completion percentage and 4.9 yards per attempt, he's no longer a serious candidate to land a starting job in free agency.
Or DA, perhaps.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Tommie Harris is still a "strong candidate" to be released before his $2.5 million roster bonus is due in June.

Beat writer Neil Hayes ties the possibility of a Harris release to the Bears' potential signing of Julius Peppers or Aaron Kampman. We don't see it. Harris is easily the team's most disruptive player. The Bears may be trying to kick him in the pants, but we don't believe he's in serious danger of being cut.
Nah. Too good to be true.

Beat writer Darin Gantt expects CB Richard Marshall to draw interest in free agency after landing just a second-round tender from the Panthers.

Marshall is apparently looking to break the bank on a new contract, and the Panthers are unwilling to go there after handing out a six-year, $53.5M deal to Chris Gamble in 2008. An above-average starter, Marshall is a good bet to land an offer sheet.
Worth a call to his agent.

Profootballtalk.com hears that Donovan McNabb could be with the Rams as soon as Friday, in exchange for the first pick of the second round.

PFT's source is a "tipster with a limited but viable track record." We're as skeptical of this report as we were of the last McNabb/Rams report. As of Tuesday, the teams hadn't even talked. For the Rams to part with a high pick, they'd need McNabb to agree to an extension. It's likely that the 33-year-old would balk at a long-term deal with a team so far removed from playoff contention.

The Seahawks elected to not tender OL Brandon Frye, making him an unrestricted free agent.

The move is disappointing in Frye's case because he held up fairly well when forced into 2009 spot starts on Matt Hasselbeck's blind side. He is also an athletic lineman, which figured to help his cause in zone-blocking guru Alex Gibbs' system. It's possible that Frye's 2009 neck injury did him in.
The team needs depth, too.

hey man guess u saw that delhomme was released or will be very soon. panthers said it now too... and i would not mind seeing us go get richard marshall... i heard he can be quite a headache (he came out and said he wanted to get like 10 int's the other year and it was early in the offseason and wasnt even a starter at the time, i think the panthers cut ken lucas then and he became a starter)... but he has true playmaker ability... and wouldnt mind seeing him traded straight up for thomas howard... then if we traded aso for a bunch of things iw ouldnt mind so much... marshall and chris johnson i think are a good 2... marshall is also fairly young... about 26 i think... and chris johnson is older but never really played until 2 years ago... then just hope the light comes on for routt... yes that is a lot... but i believe the coaching staff doesnt believe in chris johnson int he slot. which is the reason he went from 4th string cb to starter after hall's release...
