i agree... i think ellis had a great locker room influence... but as a player he was holding us back... i truly believe the ONLY reason they moved trevor scott to weakside backer was to get the best players on the field... i think jay richardson was very good, but they picked up ellis last year because richardson wasnt quite ready to start... then i heard shaughnessy coulda been good but something happened b4 the draft and that is why he dropped?? anybody know anything more on that?? and so that is why we drafted him... he was supposed to be better and fell in the draft... then shaugnessy was so good, scott was so good, that richardson couldnt even get playing time...
so to get hime more playing time he was the fastest and most athletic they moved him to WLB and he excelled, then richardson started to see the field more, and schaughnessy shined in ellis' absence.
but i agree he was a great lockerroom presence...
