Vick could begin football workouts this week Vick could begin football workouts this week
Suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick reportedly will begin football-related workouts after he is released from prison this week.
Vick will begin working with a trainer sometime after he is transferred to his home in Virginia, where he will be confined, NFL.com reports. Vick is scheduled to complete his 23-month sentence for dogfighting-related offenses in July.
The website, citing an unnamed source, reported Vick will be put through conditioning and passing workouts when he begins activities, and "plenty" of people are willing to run routes for him.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Vick indefinitely after Vick's conviction. The two are expected to meet at some point, although a date has not been set. An NFL spokesman said Friday that Vick has yet to apply for reinstatement. When he does, Vick must show, in Goodell's words, "genuine remorse" before he can be reinstated.
