You can't judge a book by its cover. Very true if you're talking about a person you know nothing about. What about some one you have heard about? Well Josh McDaniels looks like an honest guy. Again, don't judge a book by its cover. McDaniels hasn't been completely honest in his short career as a head coach. But I have got a new rule about passing judgement. Don't judge a season by its offseason.
Here's a rule for everyone who thinks that the Broncos will have a terrible season in 2009 without Jay Cutler and, possibly, Brandon Marshall. Wait and see. We don't know how good Denver will be in 2009. They could be awful, or they could be freaking amazing.
I think the same rule should apply for every team in the NFL.
I guess the only thing Broncos fans can do is just keep cheering. And believe me, we will. And to think we didn't make it on Jamie Duke's "Best in the Biz" list for fans.
My point is that things change in the NFL so we can't be to sure if all the off-season drama causes a losing record. We can predict all we want but that doesn't mean its set in stone.
