Bills Owens finally settling after finding place to live

Owens finally settling after finding place to live

BUFFALO, N.Y.—Terrell Owens finally has a place to plug in his popcorn-maker now that the Buffalo Bills receiver has found a place to live in his new town.

Real estate agent Maureen Flavin said Wednesday that Owens has agreed to lease a 4,500-square-foot newly built home in an upscale community in Orchard Park, not far from Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The search took several months in part because the type of large homes Owens was interested in usually aren't on the rental market, Flavin said. The search also made headlines after Owens said he was turned down from viewing one home because the owners didn't want any drama in their neighborhood.

"It was a lot of fun, and he absolutely knew what he wanted and some things just fell into my lap," said Flavin, who discovered the place with assistance from developer David Stapleton, who built the home.

Owens wasn't immediately available for comment, but made note of his new living arrangements by posting two comments on his Twitter.com site early Wednesday morning.

Aside from thanking "ALL the people," who opened their homes to him, he also credited those who assisted him in finding him a place to stay.

He's scheduled to take possession on July 1.

Owens was intent on renting rather than buying after signing a one-year, $6.5 million contract with Buffalo in early March shortly after he was released by the Dallas Cowboys. He already owns homes in Atlanta, Dallas, Miami and New Jersey.

Owens spent the past two months looking at homes across the Buffalo region. His search included viewing two condominiums on the city's waterfront, which were shown to him by Flavin and filmed by VH-1 for the receiver's upcoming reality show to be broadcast on the cable network.
