ESPN Week 2 Studs and Duds STUDS
The Broncos' defense: Usually the subject of criticism instead of praise, Denver's defense appears to be making early strides. Defensive end Elvis Dumervil tied a franchise record with four sacks and linebacker Andra Davis had 10 tackles against his old team as Denver beat the Browns 27-6. The Broncos allowed only 54 rushing yards and held Cleveland scoreless for the final three quarters. DUDS
JaMarcus Russell: The Raiders got their first victory of the season, but Russell did little to help Oakland's cause -- until the very end anyway. Russell threw for 58 yards during the go-ahead drive after throwing for only 51 yards combined in the Raiders' previous nine possessions. The third-year QB finished 7-of-24 for 109 yards as Oakland edged the Chiefs 13-10. Week 2: Studs & Duds - ESPN

On that same day, the now defunct Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League attracted 15,000 to their game at Kemper Arena. |
