Eddie Royal: AFC special teams player of the month Quote:
Via the official Denver Broncos Twitter, “The NFL will name Eddie Royal as the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October.”
What a great honor for a special player. On Monday night in week 6, Eddie was instrumental in completing a 3-phase total team effort for a win over the San Diego Chargers by taking a kickoff return 93 yards and a punt return 71 yards for touchdowns.
Although he wasn’t utilized as much as a receiver in the game, he absolutely made a difference and is showing why the Broncos were so high on him out of college in 2008. This is the first time in team history that they have had 2 players named AFC special teams player of the month in the same season. In September, kicker Matt Prater was given the honor.

On that same day, the now defunct Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League attracted 15,000 to their game at Kemper Arena. |
