Broncos Dumervil Down

In 2009, Broncos linebacker, Elvis Dumervil was a beast on defense. He led the league in sacks last season with 17. Though the Broncos struggled after their week 7 bye and lost 8 of their last 10, Dumervil continued to get to quarterbacks. Two weeks ago, Dumervil signed a contract extension that will keep him a Mile High through 2015. Unfortunately, yesterday, the Denver Post reported that Elvis Dumervil could miss at least four months, maybe even the entire season due to a torn pectoral muscle. This is a major blow to the Broncos, who may have possibly had a shot to compete in the AFC West. With the Broncos failing to make the playoffs for the fourth straight year, head coach Josh McDaniels’ time in Denver could run short if they fail to make it again. For the sake of his job, McDaniels had better hope that former first-rounders Robert Ayers or Jarvis Moss can step up and become impact players on a defense that needs help.

I agree, this is a blow for the Broncos - injuries are very unfortunate. However, on a more pleasant note, GO RAIDERS!

When Gruden was asked if he would coach the Raiders again he was quoted as saying, ”Tomorrow if I could”.
