Vikings Favre wins game for Vikings with last-second touchdown pass

MINNEAPOLIS (Reuters) - Veteran quarterback Brett Favre completed a 32-yard touchdown pass with two seconds remaining to give the Vikings a 27-24 victory over San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Wide receiver Greg Lewis leaped high into the air at the back of the end zone to catch the ball from Favre and give the Vikings their third successive victory.

"It's pretty special," the 39-year-old Favre, who came out of retirement for the second time to play for the Vikings this season, told reporters.

He threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns but completed only 24 of 46 passes and was intercepted once. Only one of his passes went to Lewis - the game winner.

"I guess it is my lucky day," the reserve receiver said.

The game also featured a 101-yard kickoff return by the Vikings' Percy Harvin in the third quarter, which gave Minnesota a 20-17 lead.

San Francisco (2-1) regained the momentum on quarterback Shaun Hill's second touchdown pass to Vernon Davis, a 20-yarder with 8:12 left in the game.

Favre then drove Minnesota 80 yards on 10 plays in the final 1:27 for the victory.
