NBC Sports spokesman Brian Walker is spreading the word that the Twitter account purporting to belong to former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison is fake.
Walker said Harrison, who is now an NFL analyst for NBC, doesn't tweet and doesn't know how to tweet.
That means that even Jets safety Kerry Rhodes, who engaged in Twitter trash-talk with someone he thought was the real Harrison was duped.
Whoever is running the Twitter page has now admitted that they're not Harrison and they were taking his comments from radio interviews and posting them. They also tweeted that they will take down the page.
"This account does not belong to Rodney Harrison but everything posted here was taken from interviews he made."
The Harrison imposter said his war of words with Rhodes was done using comments the real Harrison made on "The Michael Kay Show" on ESPN radio in New York.
The imposter was somewhat apologetic after being caught.
"i signed out this account on 6/18/09 and didn't post until this month, i never meant to pretend i was him, i just went with it."
