Sarah Palin outed as a New England Patriots fan?



OK, my Saturday has officially been ruined. Seriously, I’m genuinely disturbed.

I remember getting oddly excited when I found out Snoop Dogg was a Patriots fan. The Patriots had never been the “cool” team to root for, so they never had any real celebrity fans. Snoop’s friendship with Willie McGinest made him the first real celebrity to be an admitted Patriots fan in my lifetime.

Since the Patriots started winning Super Bowls, we’ve seen many more celebrity fans come out of the woodwork (winning does wonders for the “coolness” of an NFL franchise apparently).

Recently, even Sir Elton John admitted to being a Patriots fan.

But the most recent celebrity to attempt to infiltrate Patriots Nation is too much for me to handle.

David Letterman’s best friend and the soon to be former governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, was photographed on Friday wearing a New England Patriots sweatshirt.

When the Patriots have become so “cool” that even dim-witted politicians are jumping on the bandwagon, it might be time to start worrying that our team has become “too cool” for its own good.

Of course, there’s always the chance that she thought the sweatshirt was “patriotic” and didn’t realize it was a football team…
