EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Erik Ainge led a second-half rally Thursday and the New York Jets took some of the luster off a big night for Michael Vick by downing Philadelphia 38-27.

Vick got word earlier in the day that he would be allowed to suit up for the Eagles in the third week of the season, ending a suspension brought on by his dog-fighting conviction.

He then completed 7-of-11 passes and ran for a touchdown in the exhibition game while helping the Eagles build a 24-17 halftime lead.

Ainge led three touchdown drives in the second half and completed two of them with scoring passes. He was a fifth-round draft choice last year, but saw no action during the regular season.

New York starting quarterback Mark Sanchez went 5-of-5 for 67 yards and a touchdown in the first half. Ainge hit on 10-of-17 for 180 yards.

Vick's touchdown came on a 2-yard run early in the second quarter on the first play after a New York turnover.

The Jets, who went 2-2 during the exhibition campaign, will open the regular season at Houston. Philadelphia (1-3) will play its first game at Carolina.
