Pacman Jones yet to receive offer to return to NFL
Former Titans and Cowboys CB Pacman Jones has not yet found a team willing to offers him a chance to return to the NFL, his agent, Worrick Robinson, told the Nashville City Paper.
But Robinson said he's talked with several teams who might be willing to take a flyer on Jones after training camps start.
“We realize that anywhere he goes, we would expect that it’s going to be a media circus and people will take the focus off the team and try to make it about him,” Robinson told the City Paper.
“I’ve talked to a couple of teams that said they might be more interested in getting into the first weekend or so of camp, settling in and then maybe taking a look at him, because it would be such a circus when he comes to town.”
The Cowboys cut Jones after last season, in which he served a six-game suspension following an altercation with a bodyguard. Jones was banned for the entire 2007 season after a series of run-ins with the law when he played with the Titans.
Robinson said he hasn't discussed the possibility of Jones playing in the start-up UFL with his client or league representatives.
And he suggested that Jones won't be too discriminating about what NFL teams he might join.
“We’ve talked to several teams," Robinson told the paper. "We’re going to go with who makes the right offer and the best offer. We’re still waiting for the first formal contract offer."
