NFL Vick meets with NFLPA, reportedly hits strip club

Vick meets with NFLPA, reportedly hits strip club

Michael Vick has kept busy during his first few days as a free man.

Vick met one-on-one with NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith Tuesday, the day after he was released from federal custody for a dogfighting conviction.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has suspended Vick indefinitely and said Tuesday he’ll make a decision “in the near future” on reinstating him.

Sources told the Washington Post that Vick will meet with Goodell in the next day or two. Goodell has said Vick must show remorse and convince him and the public that he is reformed.

PETA spokeswoman Nicole Matthews told Washington’s WUSA-TV that the animal rights organization may protest Vick’s reinstatement to the NFL unless he first undergoes a psychological evaluation.

The players union has not taken a formal position on Vick’s reinstatement but has pledged to support him on a personal level. Vick must serve three years’ probation for his conviction.

The Atlanta Falcons released Vick in June. It is unclear who would sign Vick if he were reinstated. The owners of the Jets and Giants have stated they have no interest in signing him.

NFL training camps open for veterans next week.

Several NFL stars have shown support for Vick. Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin told the AP Vick should be reinstated. Michael Strahan, Chad Ochocinco and Jamal Anderson have all posted statements supporting Vick’s reinstatement on Twitter.

Vick has also kept his night life busy.

A number of gossip blogs have reported that Vick was seen at a strip club in Virginia Beach with Allen Iverson and his wife on Monday night.
