Default The effect of a good D line on our LBs.

I was impressed with how our Dline did to say the least, in fact I would say it was the best unit on the field last night. When the big men can hold the line and penetrate the way they did only good things can happen. You look at last night and you see LBs hitting the gaps with purpose and a big head of steam when before the arrival of the great one we were getting slaughtered up front and the LBs were getting handled before they could hit their gaps. I and others have said for a while that if our LBs can get protection they will be good and I stand behind that.

I have to admit I am apprehensive knowing this team's propensity to flame out the game after bringing the heat. What I saw last night was different than anything I have seen the last six years. There is a swagger, a soundness that has been missing. Even last year when we were keeping things close we could not stop the run and not a lot of physicality last night we put people out of the game.

I want to see consistency this year, we need to repeat this in KC and again at home against the Donks. If we can go into Texas with a 2-1 record I will be loving life. I hope Russ can get a little mojo against that bad KC defense.

I agree, we finally got to see Thomas Howard's full potential, along with the amazing ability from Tyvonne Branch.

Al Davis should call Seymour up to his office tomorrow morning and give him a new long-term contract.

I watched him specifically on a lot of plays (that's how I noticed he was on the sidelines on a lot of 3rd down plays - FUCK!). It was strange watching a REAL d-lineman out there. That dude knows how to play the game. He's fucking disciplined, I watched him hold contain many times while the young boys were biting all over the place. I saw him use his blocker to string out SD's RBs and allow our superior speed to shut down the edge. Then of course there was the penetration, pressure, nastiness... An incredibly complete and versatile player.

Very fucking nice game by Richard motherfucking Seymour. Give the dude a contract, get him excited to be a Raider and he's going to pay off big-time.

Tyvonne looked really good.He has some potential.I hope mitchell is studying hard and brings the heat soon also.
Mario henderson is a stud.If he holds his lefts side all year we could have a pro bowler on our hands.I wouldn't say that now but if he proves it over this entire year we can say we have drafted very well.
1.henderson
2.Shillenz
3.namdi
4.tyvonne
5.mitchell?
6.murphy (will grow sooner than later)

Even though he didn't pan out at LT I think Robert Gallery needs mentioned. He is a stud at LG & him & Mario should take care of that side for several years.

I saw Seymour in this one particular play double-teamed and still was able to grab and pull down the ball carrier. That was impressive. He is a beast!!!

Raiders

Michael Bush & Zach Miller as well are 2 good draft picks. Especially Bush since he was a 4th rounder.

I love the way he played but if we gave up a 1st for one year of service I'm going to be pissed.

If he's looking for that one big time deal, he will take it even it's not with us. Not a gamble I like to take. This is why I think Al should be drawing up a new long term deal for Seymour right now and sign him.
