The Raiders have reneged on their promise to ban CBS analyst Rich Gannon from their practice facility, but they aren't laying off the criticism of their former QB. Upset with what they feel is unfair criticism of the franchise, the Raiders told the San Francisco Chronicle on Friday they would not allow Gannon into their building. But the NFL mandates that teams allow network TV crews to meet with teams prior to each week's games. Raiders executive John Herrera told the AP the team would succumb to the rule late Friday: "He's repeatedly said that they should just blow up the building and start all over again. He hasn't done that once or twice, but has done that repeatedly. He continually attacks the owner, he continually attacks the organization in every way that he can. After listening to all of that for the last several years why would you want him in your building when all he does is attack the organization that made his career." Herrera then unleashed a verbal assault on Gannon, the NFL MVP in 2002 with Oakland when the team reached Super Bowl XXXVII. He called Gannon a "journeyman quarterback" who wasn't grateful for the opportunity the Raiders afforded him: "It's kind of like the dog you have at home. You nurture him, feed him, take care of him and all he wants to do is bite you." Gannon hasn't commented on the situation. But CBS spokesperson LeslieAnne Wade told the Chronicle he would still broadcast Sunday's game against the Broncos. By Sean Leahy LINK |

| another tool kicking the dog when its down....does jamilia have the luxury of throwing to 2 of the best wr's ever to play like choker gannon did?...critizism is best coming from a qb who actually won somthing....

So far Gannon has won far more than JaMarcus, so it would behoove a young quarterback to listen to him. Moreover, the two "best WR's to ever play" that Gannon threw to, where advanced in age and on the wane - well past their prime. Arguably, the very fact that Gannon was so successful with them at their advanced ages bespeaks the skill of Gannon. Unless of course, you are seriously trying to argue that either T. Brown or J. Rice could have vaulted up six feet in order to catch one of J-Rock's errant passes or that J-Rock would not have overthrown them because they were somehow faster than DHB even in their old age and could have gotten to the ball?

| What has Russell won again? Pretty sure Gannon can hit an open receiver 10 feet away. Gannon may have had better receivers but Russell has a better running game & that should help the passing game. As far as choking? If it were any other team other than Gruden's then Al is holding his 4th Lombardi trophy and saying how great Gannon is.
