Less than a half-hour into free agency, one popular offseason rumor has been scuttled.

ESPN is reporting the San Diego Chargers have traded cornerback Antonio Cromartie to the New York Jets in exchange for a third-round draft pick that could eventually become a second.

So much for Nnamdi Asomugha’s Pro Bowl request to join Darrelle Revis as the NFL’s premiere cornerback tandem with the Jets.

Unless, of course, the Jets plan on making Cromartie a highly-paid nickel back.

hey man ur from cali area correct? sorry if im wrong but i think u are. and a few others. man it must be nice to be further west... its 12:38 here and it sux. i plan on staying up till at least 2am or later if i can... just to see the beginning of FA and never really thought about it untill just now... its only like 8:38 there right now (cali area)... man that must be nice... if u guys stay up till 12 u get to see the first 4 hours of FA... the big time signings usually happen in the first few hours or take till later in the day... lucky asses . . . ... theres 4 of them. 1 for each hour behind you are haha...
