Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable is so encouraged about the team's upgrades heading into the upcoming season that he believes the team will make the playoffs, according to Aaron Wilson, of NationalFootballPost.com. "I actually believe that's where we are headed, there's no doubt," Cable said. "When I look at us as a football team, our biggest opponent is us. That's our goal right now, that's our purpose, to take care of us. How we handle things, from penalties to discipline to tackling to finishing to being on times, will write the script for what we are this year. Thirty-two of us are similar right now. We feel good about ourselves right now.

Raiders

His statement takes me back to the rich gannon days when this was true.We expected to win and knew if we lost it was cuz a blown call or too many penalties or late field goal. Now we went from hoping j-russ came to play and hopefully look like a team to knowing we can score just hoping d is dominant.I like where were headed as long as our o-line improves.

we played two playoff caliber teams already (cowgirls and whiners) and played them tough. The niners sacked favre too, 1 week earlier and there o-line is top 5.Our team now looks like there already in midseason form.
