Default Nnamdi lands in Philly

Sad.

Thus officially ends the eight-year Raiders career of Asomugha. He reportedly received a five-year deal that guarantees him $25 million from the Eagles. The Raiders gave Routt a three-year contract in March that guarantees him $20 million.
EDIT: Eagles have also signed Johnnie Lee Higgins.

When Gruden was asked if he would coach the Raiders again he was quoted as saying, ”Tomorrow if I could”.

I read that Rhoutt was redoing his contract to be more cap friendly

I have not read that, but, if true, that is good news - but, losing Nnamdi still hurts. I recently moved to Philly, so losing Nnamdi stings a little more.

It would have been nice to keep Nnamdi but the defense actually played pretty good without him. Routt does get burned more often but he made some plays as well. I would rather see the money used to beef up the O-line. Jared Gaither would be a nice tradeoff that would actually help the team more.

Maybe, but I am still not happy with Nnamdi - though I blame Nnamdi more than the Raiders. Nnamdi was paid about $30 million the past two years to wear the Silver black, yet signed a five year deal with Philly with only $25 million guaranteed. Hmm, just does not seem right.

Yeah, I agree; Aso played the Raiders - I read somewhere that the deal Aso took in Philly was less than the Raiders offered him before the lock out. If this is true, then

Ya, but Al pretty much said he wasn't coming back. The money was better spent elsewhere. Nnamdi wanted to win, he could have got more money somewhere else. I'm not sure the Raiders were even negotiating with him. It would have been nice for him to stay but really how much better did he make the team? or defense for that matter. You can say he shut down half the field but i'd say 1/4 maybe. Teams didn't throw his way but they could run all over us, even on his side. Not that stopping the run is his first assignment. I'm ok losing him so long as moves are made to solidify the O-line. Add some real lineman there and feed McFadden, Bush and the surplus of backs we have and that will eat the clock, keep the defense off the field and fresh and that will make them better as well since they won't be worn out every 4th quarter.

I bet he's gonna have meteoric rise in INT's just they Woodson did when he left for Greenbay... Hopefully he will have that type of success, and get to win a SuperBowl as well... Lord knows we're no near achieving anything.
