Don’t rule out Raiders pursuing Garrard Terry McCormick, The National Football Post 9 hours, 26 minutes ago tweet5 Once upon a time, the Raiders would collect castoff quarterbacks like Jim Plunkett and Rich Gannon and those battered and beleaguered souls would be rejuvenated in the Silver and Black and take the Raiders to Super Bowls. Now, the Raiders just collect castoff quarterbacks the way Lindsey Lohan collects criminal charges. So, it’s only natural that the Raiders would have some interest in David Garrard(notes), who was let go by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday. Currently, Oakland has Jason Campbell(notes), Kyle Boller(notes) and rookie Terrelle Pryor(notes), who is suspended for the first five games of the season. With the possible exception of the starter Campbell, Garrard would be an upgrade, which is exactly why Steve Corkran of InsideBayArea.com, believes Garrard is potentially on the Raiders’ radar. Where Garrard will land is impossible to predict, but when it comes to retread quarterbacks, you can never rule out the Oakland Raiders. |

| Shit that's exactly what i was thinking...But than If they bring him in that will give Campbell an excuse as to why he's playing so poorly...." i'm busy looking over my shoulder".. |

| Passing they're pretty much a wash. But Garrard runs better and scores more with his feet.

Passing is not a wash, at all, not even close.

No, the timing is not right. Campbell has far more experience with the offense and Gerrard will only cause Campbell to keep lookin' over his shoulder and there goes the season. No, the Raiders need to find out once and for all if Campbell is their guy. Had this been the off season, then Gerrard may have been a consideration, but now - no.
