Against the Jets...
Something I posted on another board, Thought some of you would find it interesting. Not much going on in this forum right now, so here's my contribution. Quote:

Our O is #24 passing and #4 rushing.
We have run the ball 69 times, 3rd in the league behind HOU and JAX.
However, our rushing YPC is only 4.7, tied for 8th in the league.
We have 4 rushing TDs, best in the league.
We have 5 runs longer than 20 yds, tied for best with BUF (Feels like they got all 5 of theirs against us).
I think after last week we've seen that our passing game is capable of far more.
HOWEVER, opposing QBs currently have a 56.2 rating against the Jets D, and that's the best in the league. Their passing O is #13 and their run O is #28.
Our pass D is #21 and our rush D is #27.
Against the run we are giving up a monster 7.1 YPC, worst in the league by far.
37.8% of running plays against us result in a 1st down, again worst in the league by far.
We've given up 4 runs longer than 20 yds, tied for worst with BUF.
Opponents only complete 56.5% of passes against us, that ties us for 8th best in the league.
Opposing QBs have an 80.3 rating against us, that's 7th best. In summary:
The Jets have a top-10 defense that plays hell with QBs.
Luckily we are a run-first team and we do it very well.
Our passing D is actually adequate, while our rushing D is fucking atrocious.
Luckily their rushing O is one of the worst in the league. Bottom line:
This matchup is not exactly in our favor, but it could be far worse.
That's what the numbers say, anyhoo... | |
