Yep, he wanted a winning team and wasn't cheap. He learned eventually he needed to build through the draft and not with pricey free agents.Too bad he couldnt see this thing out cuz were heading in the right direction and fast.
I was always in his corner and will always be, RIP AL DAVIS.

It strange I have never met the man , but yet the news has brought tears to my eyes.... They need to play their hearts out for the rest of this season .... Especially those whom should have been released and are most likely employed because Al Davis was the most loyal of men unwilling to except them as failures.

I just woke up and saw that I had an alert on my IPhone. It was about Mr. Al Davis passing away. I'm shocked and sadden with this news. Day one of being a Raider fan, he was the man on top. He was like family because I so much love the Raiders. I never really wanted this to ever happen, but we all cannot live forever. To a great football man, Al Davis, I wish you to a safe passage to wherever we all end up. Rest in Peace Al Davis!

When Gruden was asked if he would coach the Raiders again he was quoted as saying, ”Tomorrow if I could”.

At least we get to have a new owner! Davis should have retired 20 years ago anyway

Seriously? The man just passed - a Raider great, a man who created and molded something we love. I rarely swear here, but fuck you.
