Report: Bengals close to shipping Palmer to Raiders

It’s trade deadline day, and it’s time to wake up.

The Raiders want Carson Palmer, and the Raiders just might get Carson Palmer.

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Raiders are close to a deal that would send Palmer from the Bengals to Oakland for a first-round draft pick and a conditional future pick.

Raiders coach Hue Jackson previously worked for the Bengals. Glazer says that Jackson worked Bengals owner Mike Brown hard to get the deal done.

Jackson must have been very persuasive. The Raiders are 4-2 and the Bengals are 4-2.

The Raiders will have to scramble to fit Palmer’s prorated $11 million base salary under the salary cap. As of early October, the Raiders had $6.1 million in cap space.

I was just about to post this myself. Wow this would be huge.The two already know each other and were coming up on our bye week. This makes sense, even if we'll be sitting out next years draft untill the 5th round.
Palmer wants to play for a contender and he's smart enough to get alot of our plays down untill we face some stiffer competition.
If this deal does happen i think cambpell is in the last year of his contract, but i think he'll come back as our backup.Wich Would be ideal.

Man I hope we land Palmer and he's in good football shape.
I also read that a former bengal saftey said on twitter he signed with us, could this mean were sending one of our saftey's in a deal?

The Cincinnati Bengals acquired a first-round pick in 2012 and a conditional pick in 2013 from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for QB Carson Palmer. The conditional pick can become a first-round pick based on playing time and incentives.
