Jackson says decisions on assistants coming ’soon’
By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012 at 7:17 pm in Oakland Raiders.

A member of 95.7 FM The Game said Sunday that “a little birdie” told him that every member of the Raiders defensive staff was fired. On Tuesday, that same radio host amended that to say four defensive coaches were fired today, including defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan.
Jackson on a Sacramento radio show Tuesday said that he won’t comment on the status of his staff at this point. Raiders senior executive John Herrera said of the 95.7 report, “That’s not right.”
The coaches met with Jackson on Tuesday. During those meetings the coaches were told that any decisions about their future with the Raiders will be made sooner rather than later “because that’s only fair to the coaches,” Jackson said on the Sacramento radio show.
Then again, league rules stipulate that coaches under contract have to be told by a certain date whether they are going to be retained. That window closes in two weeks.
The 95.7 report today said Bresnahan, linebackers coach Greg Biekert and secondary coaches Kevin Ross and Rod Woodson were told that they won’t be asked back next season.

In other news, the Raiders signed sign WR Eddie McGee, G Alex Parsons, RB Lonyae Miller, OL Zach Hurd, DE Carl Inehacho, DT Jamie Cumbie, DB Terrail Lambert and NT Travis Ivey to futures contracts.
Those eight players finished the season on the practice squad. The Raiders had one week to re-sign them without competition from other teams.

Cant wait till he's fired.I blame him for the bad situations he put us in od defense and the players just a little.I never understood why we fired john marshall. The dude understood defense, sure he wasnt top notch but understood fundamentals and got us prepared for each team accordingly. This dude bres just stunk it up.
heres my list of things we need to do in the ofseason.
1.bring in del rio or someone just as good...Maybe crennel will come over if the chiefs hire someone other than him.

2.Persuade j-cambpell the season is long and you never know what could happen.Hell be a damn good upgrade over boller as our backup, if not find a decent backup. At this point the new guy is still too fresh.

3.Figure out what to do with Mcfadden/Bush.

4.Look at the draft's talent pool and pray we get good comp picks. If we get three 3rd rounders get some defensive players.

5.Sign offensive line free agent or two and maybe see what's out there TE wise.i like boss but we need a veteran who can break away and get open.maybe ausberry will fill in more next year.

we got a loooong way to go though....DAMN

Seems to me like Boss got open and caught everything thrown his way. Problem was Hubert just never played him enough.

I agree with you. There was something going on with Jackson and Boss. Remember he benched him for the Denver game some inexplicable reason. I don't like Jackson never have. I hope the GM comes in Hires his own coach and they convince the new coach to kep Al Saunders. He can call the plays better than Jackson. Let that faggot Hue Jackson go get as many pedicures as he wants.

I do not mind old Chuck getting the boot, but I would have liked Woodson and Biekert to stay.

WHY??

Our D sucked dog shit at every level! We got run on, we got thrown on, we got gashed and destroyed. It was a fucking hideous disaster. We would have been a SB contender if our D was even AVERAGE.

Fuck everyone involved with it as far as I'm concerned. Don't let your Raider goggles blind you. Woodson and Biekert were great for us on the field. Not so much on the sidelines.

Weren't they just Assistant Position coaches. Not even the actual position coaches? The reason I have a problem with it because Hue is the one making the call. Don't let that guy fool you. He was in on the new defensive scheme. That's why he was defending that call where McClain was covering deep on Johnson.
