 OT: P226 Question
For those on this board that enjoy firearms, I have a question for you; I plan on buying a new Sig Sauer P226, but am not sure which one - so many choices! Not too surprisingly, I am torn between a few. I plan on using the gun at the range on occasion and for home defense. Obviously, I want the gun to be reliable and have great accuracy - that is why I am looking at Sigs - and I would like the gun to be durable and look good over time - even after use in-and-out of a holster. Generally, I prefer .40, but am not married to it. Below are the choices I am considering:

The .40 is a good cartridge. I had a Glock in .40. Loved the cartridge, hated the glock. You can never go wrong with a Sig. I own a P220 and used to have a P228 9mm and a P230 .380 (that's the best .380 available period IMO - if you believe that a .380 is a legitimate self-defense cartridge anyway). I bought a Sig 1911 Nitron Rail for Christmas. Slapped a flared magwell on it and a set of alumagrips. I'm more accurate with it than any other pistol I've shot. Fucking dead eye. |

I saw the Sigs in an ad in American Rifleman and was immediately interested (I'm always interested in Sigs). Looked at this one in a gun store, slightly used, got a good price and "pulled the trigger." Mine looks far better than this, with the customizations I've made.  |

It kind of depends on what you need it for? Home defense or target shooting? I would always go for the tactical versions on most firearm packages.
