Somebody answer me this. Why in the hell would we basically be hanging our hat on Moss, who was a coach on that shit defense, when we could go hard after Philbin, who ran one of the most potent offenses anyone has ever seen? And he did it without a running game, and without any mega-stars other than Rodgers.

You go after performance. And based on that it shouldn't be Bowles, it shouldn't be Moss, it CERTAINLY shouldn't be Dom fucking Capers. It should be Philbin. He's a coordinator whose unit has been playing lights-out for years!

Didn't Philbin recently have a very personal tragedy - if so, he may not be ready to become HC. Even though he would seemingly be a better hire than Moss and/or Capers.

When Gruden was asked if he would coach the Raiders again he was quoted as saying, ”Tomorrow if I could”.

Raiders Raiders get permission to interview charmichael.

This is what I'm talking about.

This move seems like a couple of years ago when new orleans took a gamble on drew brees' shoulder and signed him.The rest is history.

Now we bring in the saints o-coordinator and marry him up with palmer and our offense continues to be explosive if not top 5.

Still dont have an answer for defense though.DAMN

A HC who's been learning under Sean Payton for years and driving a lethal offensive attack?

Yeah, I'd sign off on that. Might as well make the best of it.

Defense wins championships. The Niners and Giants are proving that. It's going to be an excellent game this weekend with the Niners and Giants. I think the Niners are a little bit better than the Giant's defense. It's going to be fun!

So far, given the unfortunate circumstances, he seems like the best realistic option. It seems then that it is between him and Philbin, but who can say with this GM.

Defense helps win championships, but a team still need to be able to put points on the board and also keep the defense off the field for a break. Personally, I would prefer the Raiders to have a great offense as a well as a great defense.

If you can't put points on the board, it's because of the defense not letting you.

Regarding Philbin's tragedy, it's very sad and he may actually want to come to Oakland for change of scenery and perhaps it will make it a little easier for him to deal with his loss. I would love to have him as our new HC or OC because of his unbelieveable offense. We need someone like him.
