Default I should be used to this shit by now

So why am I so fucking PISSED OFF?

I should be immune to disappointment at this point, the Raiders have been innoculating me with it for 10 years now.

This is our SEVENTH head coach in 10 years folks. Do you know what our record is during that span? Well it ain't good.

I expected our new GM to come in here and excite us with his moves. Make shit happen, import some success for God's sake. Bring this organization kicking and screaming into the realm of sanity, common sense and sound judgement.

Saunders' offense in KC was top-5 the entire time he was there. That's about the ONLY success we still have on our coaching staff, and we're not even sure if we'll be keeping him.

So for all you guys saying "hey relax, it could work out," I say "No shit Sherlock." If I'm playing Texas Hold 'Em and I get dealt 7-deuce offsuit, there's always the chance that "it could work out." But I'll fold it every single time.

The bottom line is that we got rid of "promising mediocrity" and replaced it with "less-than-average." And there's nobody here who can explain to me how THAT is progress, because it can't be done. There's no logically sound, fact-based train of thought that can get you there.

Did you know Hue's offense was in the top-10 in each of the last 2 seasons? Do you know what our rank was BEFORE Hue? Hue Jackson took our offense from #31 to #10 overnight, and to #9 this year while keeping us in the playoff hunt to the very last game of the season. THAT is called progress, people. And if Al hadn't saddled him with Bresnahan we might still be playing football.

All I've heard so far from the rose-colored-glasses crowd is "give Allen a chance" and "DEN's defense was better than ours" and "I like Dennis Allen." What the fuck? You don't sound like serious football fans to me.

McKenzie had an opportunity here to set us up for greatness. I expected him to swing for the fences.

I want someone here to explain exactly how and why they believe Dennis Allen is the answer to our problems, and give legitimate reasons why you think he's going to take us to the Super Bowl. And just to give you a hint, answers like "I trust McKenzie" and "Allen's players speak highly of him" just don't cut it.

Raiders

Allen is not the answer. McKenzie has lost his damn mind. I thought he would come in and do great things but I do not see that now that he is in charge. It gives me little hope for next year. Watch the jackass Donks pick up Jack Del Rio to replace Allen.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!! If this happens, this entire fiasco can officially be labeled an UNMITIGATED DISASTER!! Not only did we hire some nobody, but we cleared the way for our division rival to UPGRADE their coaching staff in a big way!! What a CLUSTER FUCK.

Jack Del Rio could land in Denver
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 25, 2012, 10:25 AM EST

ReutersWith Dennis Allen leaving Denver for Oakland, Broncos coach John Fox needs a new defensive coordinator.

Fox may wind up hiring someone that was his old defensive coordinator in Carolina. NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports Jack Del Rio has emerged a candidate to replace Allen.

Del Rio was Fox’s coordinator with the Panthers in 2002 before landing the head coaching job in Jacksonville. It’s a little unclear if Del Rio wants to coach in 2012 or move his family from Jacksonville. He’s still collecting money from the Jaguars, so choosing to work elsewhere is essentially choosing to work for free. (If Del Rio earned $1 million in Denver, he’d make $1 million less from the Jaguars.)

Then again, most coaches simply want to work. Raheem Morris, Tony Sparano, and Steve Spaganuolo are all back in the league. They didn’t want to sit at home and collect money.

Agreed and would add; what about Coach Jackson - there is an OC position open in the AFC West. Not good.

Raiders

Huey could definitely land in the AFC West as an OC. Then we are super fucked.

OK, according to Vittorio Tarfur our shiny new head coach is likely to hire some dude named Emmitt Thomas away from KC to be our defensive coordinator.

So let's take a look at all this in total shall we:

Denver has John Fox as HC and is getting Jack Del Rio as DC.

We have some guy named Dennis Allen as HC and we're getting some guy named Emmitt Thomas as DC.

Does this make everyone feel warm and secure, hmmm? Everyone ready for a SB run next season? Is everyone jacked up and foaming at the mouth knowing we're going to dominate in 2012?

But hey, at least we got rid of that useless Hue guy. Man, that dude was destroying our franchise.

We're fucking screwed.

piratepride is on a distinguished road
Raiders

For those of us on here that actually wanted to cann HUE I know your not happy...

But what were you expecting, really?

I feel upset that mark davis didnt have the balls to say no, i want our coach to stick around at least 1 more year. Now that he's gone, I have no choice but to hope/pray this fool somehow pulls off another jim harbaugh like season.Or at least turns our defense around like he did in denver.Wich is a long shot now that he has more on his plate, not to mention proly doesn't even know how to run his offseason program. We might be in for a long season, and if we go winless, we might get a new GM NEXT YEAR TOO.
THEN MAYBE WELL BRING IN CHUCKY......

BUT,,, if he pulls off the imposible and gets our defense to flat out shut teams down, and our offense at least is what it was this year we could have a quicker turnaround than expected.

I doubt it though.

What was I expecting? I already said that.

I am far from excited. I am not amused in the slightest.

I want somebody to convince me that I should be excited. I want someone to give me ONE good reason why I should expect greatness out of this team next year based on Reggie by-God McKenzie's moves.

Instead of firing Hue jackson, that last part would have more likely been accomplished by simply looking at a new DC. Now, there will be questions on both sides of the ball - making the challenge that much bigger.

Well, whether or not the Raiders are "screwed" yet is not established - anything can happen. However, I agree that these decisions do not seem to favor successful seasons to come.
