After watching clips on Bey, he seems pretty good. He can make some difficult catches and burn DB's. He seems like a play maker. I think he is a step up over JLH.

I think Crabtree or Maclin should have been our targets, but we can't do shit about it now. Lets hope Bey turns out the best of the 3.

Look at the 2006 draft, Lienart, Young, and Cutler. Cutler was less hyped, and not rated as high as the other two. But he turn out way better. The donks got away with a good QB until McDonald fucked it all up.

Exactly, and as I pointed out already, J. Rice was the third receiver drafted... maybe the Raiders just skipped those other two [higher rated] guys and went straight to their J. Rice.

When Gruden was asked if he would coach the Raiders again he was quoted as saying, ”Tomorrow if I could”.

Whats done is done. I don't Remember the Raider drafting a WR since Tim Brown. So lets hope this guys turns out to be a stud. The coaching staff saw a lot more of this guy than any of us.

Cause that's exactly what were doing, being positively optimistic about our draft choices.

Listening to Gil Brandt on SIRIUS Late Hits. He likes all the Raider picks. He thinks that he would have tried to get more picks and still get Bey, but doesn't know the circumstances regarding any of it. Really likes Stryker and Mitchell picks. Says that Huff, Fargas and maybe Burgess are on the block, according to his sources, none of which are from inside the organization.

He talked about Huff and the fact that he was so good in college but hasn't panned out in the NFL. Said Huff is an example of how wrong all the "experts" can be sometimes. Says that best talent evaluators work for teams, not TV or radio.

(or in internet forums)

Yeah, the best talent evaluators work for teams other than the Raiders.

OK, I'm over my initial anger. But here's how I see this. I see Bey's production curve following along the lines of Russell's.

And that ain't good. We needed an immediate impact.

That's my major beef here. Raw talent is fine, but not in the top 10.

It blows my mind that Al would go after a developmental guy when he could kick the bucket any day now.

Shit, any of us could kick the bucket any day.

I'm not going to stress myself out over a team thats going to probably suck anyway.
