Starting to warm on Bey
Just a little. First, it isn't his fault that he was picked at #7. Second, his speed alone could have him burning downfield and taking a corner and safety with him, opening up space for a guy with better hands like Chaz or Miller. I don't really care if he doesn't make the tough sideline catches, I want him to be able to do the job that is expected pf him: to catch the long bomb. I think he has a better chance of quicker success than Crabtree as well. At least the Raiders have some offensive weapons: Russell, 3 quality backs, JLH, and Miller. Who does Crabtree have? Who's throwing him the ball? It might take him a couple of seasons to adjust to a pro-style offense, if ever. At least Bey has been in a pro-style offense for a while and won't necessarily have to go through the growing pains that most NFL receivers go through. I'm not necessarily pissed that Al picked this guy, but I am pissed that he picked him at #7. It just proves Al needs someone with a clue to help him. He could have moved down to any spot before the Giants (who probably would have taken him) and paid less money and gotten more picks. Stupid.
