Javon Walker, WR, Oakland Raiders
Pros: The only Raiders receiver with significant NFL experience, Walker has twice been a 1,000-yard man, and in those two seasons, he scored a combined 20 touchdowns. Quarterback JaMarcus Russell improved, albeit modestly, down the stretch of 2008. If Russell falters or falls to injury, Jeff Garcia can make the offense go.
Cons: They begin and end with "right knee." He tore the ACL in it in 2005, underwent arthroscopic surgery on it in 2007, then struggled through the 2008 offseason because of it in 2008. Hamstring and ankle problems hampered him during the season. Following it, he underwent another procedure - apparently on the down-low - on the knee. The Raiders restructured Walker's contract in case he regains form, but they're stockpiling young, fast receivers.
Fantasy tip: The Raiders' passing game doesn't offer much upside for fantasy production - and don't give us that Darrius Heyward-Bey nonsense. Walker, if he's healthy, is the best bet. That's a big if, which means he's nothing more than a late-round flier. It just so happens that he could be a serviceable No. 4 or No. 5 if he pans out.
